I’m happy to partner with Primo Water for this post on How to Drink More Water Every Day and Love It!
We hear constantly that we should drink more water, yet many of us fall short of the daily recommendation. So how much water do you actually need?
How Much Water Should I Drink Every Day?
Current guidance suggests drinking roughly half an ounce to one ounce of water per pound of body weight. For example, a 145-pound person would aim for about 72.5 to 145 ounces daily. That’s a wide range and can feel like a lot if you’re not a habitual water drinker. Still, staying properly hydrated supports cellular functions, energy, and overall well-being.
If that target feels daunting, don’t worry — with a few simple adjustments you can increase your intake without it feeling like a chore. Below are practical tips on how to drink more water every day and actually enjoy it.

Drink More Water Every Day (and Love It!)
Start with a few straightforward changes that make a big difference. Small habits add up quickly.

1) Get a quality water dispenser. A Primo Water dispenser holds large volumes of purified water so your household always has easy access. Primo uses a multi-step purification process, including reverse osmosis, to remove contaminants and deliver clean-tasting water.
2) Carry a reusable, preferably insulated water bottle or cup you actually enjoy. Choose something that appeals to your eye and your hand. If you’ll be drinking dozens of ounces daily, the feel of the bottle and how you sip from it matters. Prefer a straw? Use one. Like stainless steel or glass? Pick that. A large insulated bottle keeps drinks cold or warm and makes reaching your daily total easier.

3) Find the water temperature that helps you sip more. Temperature is personal. Some people sip more when water is icy; others prefer it warm. I naturally drink more when my water is warm — it feels calming and encourages frequent sipping. Primo dispensers provide hot, cold, and room-temperature options, so everyone in the family can get water at the temperature they like.

4) Use gentle reminders. Set a non-annoying phone reminder or habit alert. The goal is consistent sipping, not guilt. Regular water intake beats relying on coffee or sugary drinks for energy.
5) If plain water isn’t enticing, add subtle flavor. Fresh citrus, berries, or herbs like mint and basil add interest without adding much sugar or calories. Try an infuser bottle or simply place sliced fruit and herbs in a pitcher. These simple additions can make water feel like a treat.

Lemon with mint, berries with basil, or a mix of apple, pear, and lemon are all refreshing combinations. Below you’ll find an easy, family-friendly citrus-mint infusion I love.
Why Choose Primo Water?
In our household we once noticed an iron-like taste in our well water. Having a reliable source of purified water like Primo gives peace of mind and consistently great-tasting water. Primo dispensers offer hot and cold options so everyone in a busy, active family can drink water the way they prefer.
When water is convenient and enjoyable, family members drink more. That reduces risks associated with dehydration — headaches, fatigue, irritability, dry skin, muscle cramps, dizziness, and more. Primo’s motto sums it up: Drink Big. Drink Healthy.

My favorite Primo unit is the Deluxe Bottom Loading Water Dispenser because it’s easy to use — no lifting heavy bottles — and offers dual temperatures plus a room-temperature option. The self-sanitizing model is another excellent choice for hands-off cleanliness and convenience.
Why Buy Primo Water?
- Primo bottles are reused many times (about 40–50 uses) before they’re remade, which reduces single-use plastic waste compared with individual disposable bottles.
- Primo bottles and refill/exchange options are widely available at many retailers and refill stations, even in many rural areas, making it simple to get fresh water when you need it.
- Primo follows rigorous purification standards so you’re getting water that’s treated to remove contaminants and tastes clean.

How to Drink More Water Every Day
One of my favorite and easiest ways to make water irresistible is a simple citrus-mint infused water. My kids love it and can prepare their own glass in seconds if I keep sliced citrus and washed mint ready in the fridge.
- Slice 2 lemons and 4 oranges (mix varieties if you like). Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Wash a bundle of fresh mint and keep the stems in a jar of water in the fridge so leaves stay fresh.
- To serve, add three or four citrus slices and a few mint leaves to a glass or reusable bottle filled with ice and water. Let it sit about five minutes before drinking. Refill the glass or bottle a few times before replacing the fruit and herbs.
