I live in a house full of football fanatics. They’ll pick a team in any matchup and cheer, shout and hoot through the whole game. I’m not much for the sport itself — I’m in it for the snacks. Tailgating and finger foods are my happy place, so when game day rolls around I’m happiest at the snack table, creating the best spread I can.
Beer is the usual football beverage, and I enjoy a cold one. Still, sometimes it’s refreshing to switch things up. I prefer cocktails for Monday Night Football — they feel a little more decadent and a lot more fun to make. I’m a huge fan of The Big Lebowski, so the White Russian is a natural fit for me. Traditional White Russians can feel heavy because of the cream, and the “skinny” versions made with skim milk can be a bit thin. That’s where almond milk comes in.

My Silk Anna Kournikova (a Skinny White Russian) swaps dairy for Silk Unsweetened Vanilla Almondmilk. The almondmilk gives the cocktail a silky, smooth texture that mimics the creaminess of a classic White Russian without weighing you down. It’s dairy-free, lighter, and surprisingly indulgent — the almondmilk adds body and a subtle vanilla note that pairs beautifully with coffee liqueur and vodka. Honestly, I think even The Dude would approve.

Cook’s Notes
- This cocktail is incredibly simple: fill a glass with ice, pour in the vodka, add the coffee liqueur, then top with Silk Unsweetened Vanilla Almondmilk. Give it a quick stir and you’re set. For a prettier presentation, you can float the almondmilk on top by pouring it slowly over the back of an inverted spoon so it gently layers, then grate a little bittersweet chocolate over the surface before stirring slowly. It’s an optional step, but it makes the drink look lovely.
- I often use more almondmilk than the small cream cap traditionally used in a White Russian because I like the creamier mouthfeel almondmilk provides. If you prefer a lighter cocktail, reduce the almondmilk and keep just a thin layer on top — make it to your taste.
