High-Protein Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe for Game Day

This high-protein Buffalo Chicken Dip is full of melted cheese, tender chicken, and zesty Buffalo sauce — and it definitely doesn’t taste like “health food.” It’s one of those recipes that just happens to be high in protein while tasting like pure comfort. Ready in about 25 minutes, it’s perfect for gatherings, game day, or easy lunches.

High Protein Buffalo Chicken Dip

I’m not the type to promote a recipe just because it’s “good for you.” Food’s main job is to taste amazing, and this dip delivers. It also meets protein goals without relying on powders or supplements: the protein comes from real ingredients you can find at any grocery store.

At roughly 34–35 grams of protein per serving, this healthier Buffalo chicken dip gives you serious staying power. If you can’t find Buffalo sauce locally, you can easily make your own with a simple garlic-Buffalo sauce recipe and adjust the heat to your taste.

Cottage Cheese Buffalo Chicken Dip

Cottage cheese is the unsung hero here. It provides a creamy, protein-rich base that becomes silky when blended with cream cheese and Buffalo sauce. The blended mixture coats shredded or diced cooked chicken, giving you a smooth, flavorful dip without needing processed protein additives.

This recipe scales easily — double it for a crowd or to keep leftovers for lunches. Leftover dip makes excellent Buffalo chicken wraps: spread on a flatbread or wrap, add blue cheese crumbles and crisp lettuce for a quick lunch.

Is Buffalo chicken dip “healthy”? That depends on your definition, but this version offers higher protein and some added nutrients like calcium and potassium while still delivering classic Buffalo flavor. I’ll call that a win.

High Protein Dinner Recipes

If you like high-protein, low-carb dinners, try braised mojo pork or slow-cooker roast pork for hands-off prep and versatile leftovers. Gluten-free meatballs and smoked turkey wings are both excellent party options, and if you want comfort food with a protein boost, a creamy high-protein mac and cheese delivers big on satisfaction.

  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish and sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
  • Bake about 20 minutes, until the dip is bubbling and the top is melted. Garnish with green onions and parsley or cilantro, if using. Serve with crackers, pita, tortilla chips, pretzel crisps, or raw vegetable sticks.
