I love food with a sense of humor — the kind of playful snack that makes you smile and cry out, “Eat me!”
*Unless something is literally screaming “eat me,” which would be slightly alarming.
These tiny “Bacon and Eggs” candies are about as cute as candy gets. I first spotted them years ago in Taste of Home and later on What Megan’s Making. The best part? They require just three ingredients and take only minutes to assemble. A big, adorable payoff for very little effort.

Ingredient choices are flexible. I’ve seen versions made with white chocolate or white baking chips, but I prefer yogurt candy chips. You can often find them in the bulk section of well-stocked groceries or in the candy-making aisle at craft stores. If you love white chocolate, by all means use that — the finished candies look just as sweet and charming.
Warning: these are dangerously easy to snack on. Consider making them for an event like Easter baskets or fellowship hour so you’ll have someone else around to tempt you. I know myself well enough to bag mine immediately and tie them shut tight.
Partway through assembly I had a fun idea: use orange M&M’s for a “pastured egg” look. They resemble the deeper yolks we get from our backyard hens and add a little color variety to the tray.

If you keep chickens, that’s two egg jokes in one. Okay, I’ll stop — but only after one more pun: shell you go make yourself some candy? One, two, three: SCRAMBLE!
Bacon and Eggs Candy
Rebecca Lindamood
Ingredients
- 1 bag thin pretzel sticks
- 1 bag yogurt candy baking chips or discs about 1 pound, or white chocolate chips or white baking chips
- About 40–50 yellow and orange M&Ms
Instructions
-
Line three cookie sheets with silpats, parchment, or waxed paper.
-
Place pretzel sticks in pairs, side by side, leaving a small gap between each pair.
-
Put the yogurt candy baking chips (or white chocolate/baking chips) in a microwave-safe bowl.
-
Heat at about 70% power for 1 minute, then stir.
-
Continue heating in 30-second bursts at 70% power, stirring between bursts, until smooth.
-
Use a spoon or piping bag to spread roughly 2 teaspoons of the melted candy over each pair of pretzels in the shape of an egg white.
-
Press a yellow or orange M&M into the center of each “egg” to form the yolk.
-
Allow to cool and firm completely, then store in an airtight container at room temperature.
