Jamaican Jerk Bacon Caesar Salad with Crispy Romaine

Jerk Bacon Caesar Salad takes the classic Caesar and adds a bold, memorable twist—just a quick jerk treatment on your favourite bacon gives it that extra kick.

I’ve been obsessed with salads for as long as I can remember. The textures, the crunch, the dressing—everything about a great salad draws me in.

I’ve shared many salad recipes over the years, and this one ranks among my favourites. When I posted my Jerk Bacon recipe recently, I explained that it was inspired by a favourite Carnival Cruise brunch dish: Jerk Bacon Caesar Salad. I fell hard for that combination and now make this salad at home regularly—it’s that good.

This salad takes the familiar Caesar and livens it up with savory, slightly spicy jerk bacon. I don’t get tired of it, and neither do the people I feed it to. It’s hearty but still feels like a classic Caesar—if you want to make it a main course, serve it alongside grilled chicken, fish, or pork and some crusty bread. For a lighter meal, a crusty roll or a few olives make it a perfect lunch.

Okay, I’ll admit: I show up at friends’ houses with a fork ready if I know this salad will be on the table. Not stalking—just committed to great food.

If you want the best flavour, try this salad with homemade Thick Caesar Dressing. It transforms the salad into something special. Store-bought Caesar dressing works in a pinch, but the homemade version is worth the effort.

Likewise, store-bought croutons are fine, but homemade Torn Croutons lift the salad to the next level.

Jerk Bacon is simple to prepare—use the linked Jerk Bacon recipe for best results.

Because this salad is dressed right before serving, it doesn’t hold well as leftovers. Plan portions for immediate enjoyment—fresh, crisp leaves make all the difference.

If you like hearty salads, other main-dish options to try include Bo Luc Lac (Vietnamese Shaking Beef Salad), Cheeseburger Salad, Greek Salad, Pizza Salad, Tex-Mex Cobb Salad, Spicy Southwestern Chicken Salad (great for meal prep), and Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad.
