Pizza Party Bread: ooey, gooey, melted mozzarella and crispy pepperoni on buttery garlic bread made to be pulled apart and shared.

While many food bloggers are sharing Thanksgiving menus right now, there’s more to the season than a single holiday meal. Between now and early January our calendar is full of celebrations—birthdays, Thanksgiving gatherings, holiday parties, New Year’s and eventually the Super Bowl. That means easy, crowd-pleasing recipes are essential, and this Pizza Party Bread fits the bill.
This recipe turns a simple loaf of Italian bread into a pull-apart, shareable pizza-style loaf. It has all the comforts you love—bread, melted mozzarella, butter, garlic and pepperoni—without the time and effort of making a full homemade pizza. It’s fast, forgiving and always popular at parties.

The combination of buttery garlic, bubbling mozzarella and crisp pepperoni is irresistible. For extra pizza flavor, serve the bread with a warmed bowl of pizza sauce for dipping. Whether it’s a movie night or a buffet for a crowd, this pull-apart loaf disappears quickly.

Ingredients
- 1 loaf Italian bread about 16 ounces by weight
- 1 pound grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 stick butter about 4 ounces
- 1 large clove garlic minced or pressed
- 1 bunch green onions trimmed and thinly sliced
- 24–30 slices pepperoni cut into quarters
- Nonstick cooking spray and aluminum foil
- Optional: extra chopped scallions for garnish
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (or set a grill to medium). Prepare a sheet of foil with a double layer of standard foil or a single layer of heavy-duty foil and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
-
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or a small skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and sliced green onions, mixing well.
-
Place the loaf on a cutting board and slice a ½” grid across the top, stopping about ¼” from the bottom so the loaf remains intact. Gently pry the cuts open and spoon the butter mixture into the seams. Wrap the loaf loosely in the prepared foil and place it on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
-
Remove the pan from the oven, open the foil and sprinkle the mozzarella evenly over the top, pressing some cheese down into the cuts. Scatter the pepperoni pieces over and tuck a few into the slices as well.
-
Leave the foil open and return the pan to the oven. Increase the temperature to 425°F (or HIGH on the grill) and bake another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly and lightly browned.
-
Let the loaf rest for about 3 minutes, then garnish with additional chopped scallions if desired. Serve warm for best results.
